A Date With The Tribe. This is the extended version of The Tribe special which follows a group of fans who went behind the scenes and got involved in the making of series 3 of The Tribe. This programme was shown in the UK on September 1st 2001. It is a fantastic insight into the series! A must watch!
There are nine parts in total, here is a breakdown of what happens…
01: Winners Meet Raymond Thompson
This part features Michelle Ang (Tai-San), Caleb Ross (Lex), Dwayne Cameron (Bray) and Raymond Thompson.
02: Beth Allen, Michelle Ang & Laura Wilson
The girls visit the wardrobe and make-up department and speak to the stylists/costume designers. We see Laura Wilson (May) get ready for the day. Michelle Ang (Tai-San) speaks about her make-up. There’s more behind the scenes action and finally an interview with Beth Allen (The Tribe’s Amber).
03: Behind The Scenes/Male Tribe Cast
The girls go behind the scenes of the filming of Luke’s trial in series 3 of The Tribe and become extras as Mozzies and Gaians.The girls then visit the male cast members house and chat to Dwayne Cameron (Bray), Caleb Ross (Lex), Danny James (Zoot) and Nick Miller (Pride). Finally in this part the girls tour New Zealand and see the locations/areas of the country where key scenes of The Tribe were filmed. If you visit New Zealand make sure you watch this video and make notes of where to visit!
04: Daniel James (Zoot) Interview
Daniel James who plays Zoot in The Tribe, interviews Raymond Thompson. Later Daniel James gets interviewed about working both infront and behind the camera in The Tribe and also about his embaressing moments on-set!
05: Victoria Spence & Dwayne Cameron
The girls talk schooling and interview the cast members teachers and Victoria Spence (Salene in The Tribe) about education on site at Cloud 9. Later Dwayne Cameron (Bray) is interviewed.
06: Editing The Show & Vanessa Stacey
The girls go on a bungee ride in New Zealand (yeah, it’s not Tribal related, but they put it in the episode…) Vanessa Stacey, The Tribe’s Alice, is interviewed about her role in The Tribe and how she got started out in the series. Later the girls meet the behind the scenes workers of The Tribe as they find out how the episodes are edited and sound is used to bring the series to life. Quiet interesting really.
07: Caleb Ross, MWS & Karaoke Party!
The Tribe’s Caleb Ross (Lex) is interviewed on all manner of subjects including the show, relationships and music. Later the girls are invited to a party at a cast house where they group together and sing. The one track you can here is The Verve’s Bitter Sweet Symphony. Features Jennyfer Jewell (Ellie), Meryl Cassie (Ebony), Ari Boyland (KC), Amelia Reynolds (Tally), James Ordish (Andy) plus others. Michael Wesley Smith is also interviewed, he seems kind of nervous as he answers questions from friendships to those embaressing moments onset.
08: You Belong To Me Dance Rehearsal
More behind the scenes footage of the cast as they have breakfast and get ready for a days work. Meanwhile Jennyffer Jewell (Ellie) hits the play button as Dwayne Cameron (Bray), Michelle Ang (Tai-San), Caleb Ross (Lex) and Meryl Cassie (Ebony) show us their dance routine for You Belong To Me which they’ll be performing for a Mall show.
09: More Behind The Scenes Stuff!
The girls hit the sets for their last times as a scene is filmed in a subway featuring the Mozzies and a scene in a club. More behind the scenes action with Dwayne Cameron (Bray), Nick Miller (Pride), Miriama Smith (Moz), Caleb Ross (Lex), Vanessa Stacey (Alice) and others as we see them waiting around for filming to commence, practicing lines/accents and generally looking cool!
